The Cyclon™ Program
We're exploring the potential of circularity, and Cyclon™ is our first step. It's our program for high-performance products that are designed to be recycled. We produce them. People use them. And once they are worn out, we turn them into something new. Think: Run. Recycle. Repeat.
Circularity, or a circular economy, is an economic system based on eliminating waste and pollution, maximizing the value of materials and products by keeping them in use for as long as possible, and regenerating nature. This model tackles the root causes of global challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution.
We’re on a journey to be the most premium global sportswear brand, driving lasting impact for our communities and the planet. By harnessing human ingenuity, we've joined the movement to create solutions that reduce our impact and push our industry forward. Cyclon™ is the next step on our circular journey
The Cyclon™ program currently includes five products: the Cloudneo, the Cyclon-T, the Cloudrise Cyclon and the Cloudeasy Cyclon. Most recently, we launched the Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1. Only available in select regions.
No. All Cyclon™ products are designed to be recycled. Once they're worn out, we'll need them back for a couple reasons: - We need a minimum amount of products in order to recycle. - We aim to keep recyclable materials in use. Think of it as a team sport. In order to reach our goal, we need you to do your part.
The Cloudneo, Cloudrise and Cloudeasy Cyclon are only available via subscription. You subscribe, run in them until you can't anymore, and once your shoes are worn out, you can request a new pair or swap them out for another Cyclon™ style. Then, you send back the old ones. And voilà. You can also test drive the Cyclon™ life with the Cyclon-T. You buy it. And send it back to us once it’s worn out and ready to be recycled. (No subscription necessary.)
After 6 months, you'll receive an email asking if you're ready to recycle and request your next product. But we encourage you to use your Cyclon™ products for as long as possible. (Even if we recycle the product, the less often we do it, the better.) The Cyclon-T is different as it's a one-off purchase. Once you are done with it, you can send it back to us, and we will remove the label and recycle the shirt. This is because, at the moment, the label cannot be recycled.
The Cyclon™ program is currently available in 34 countries worldwide: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and United States.
Logistics play an important role in determining how a product gets distributed, but also how it gets shipped back for recycling. Cyclon™ is live in areas where key warehouses and systems allow us to establish circular practices and build systems that are efficient. Sign up to the newsletter for updates on Cyclon™.
We’re constantly exploring new ways to use renewable materials or recycled parts in our products. The Cloudneo, the Cloudrise Cyclon, the Cloudeasy Cyclon and Cyclon-T are our first steps, but we see potential in expanding the Cyclon™ program.
Circularity is a complex topic that spans from materials and product choices to the way we offer them to our customers. On one side we are exploring new ways to use renewable and recyclable materials in our products, while maintaining or improving our product durability. On the other hand, we are piloting new business models. That's where Onward comes in. Available only in the US, our re-commerce platform allows you to give gently used products a second chance. We see great potential in this program and hope to move it available in other markets in the future. Want to learn more about our sustainability initiatives? Simply put, they're designed to be recycled. We aspire to minimize waste and reduce our impact on the environment. But our sustainability efforts don't start and stop with these showstoppers. We’re making better, conscious decisions across our business. Discover all the ways we're driving change by checking out our sustainability page.

When it comes to the Cloudneo and Cloudrise Cyclon and Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1, we don't currently have plans to release other colorways. The lack of color isn't just an aesthetic choice. It makese it easier for us to recycle and reduce our impact from the dyeing process. However, the Cloudeasy Cyclon, has a different recycling method. This gives us a little more flexibility with color.
1. Maybe don’t. Be proud of the miles you’ve crushed. 2. Prep the shoe. If you can’t resist the urge, remove the laces and inner sole. 3. Brush it. Gently scrub out loose dirt with an old toothbrush. 4. Easy does it. Use a mild detergent. NO BLEACH OR SOFTENER. 5. Temp drop. Set your washer to a cold, delicate cycle. (Remember: the colder the better for your shoes.) 6. Air it out. Remove the shoes, and air dry before you insert the laces and inner sole. 7. Repeat.
No. The Cloudneo, Cyclon-T, Cloudrise Cyclon, and Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1 use PA-11, a bio-based material made from castor beans. “Bio-based” materials are derived from renewable plant sources, but that does not mean the products made from them will break down naturally at the end of their lifecycle. Cyclon™ products are designed to be returned and recycled through our take-back program.
Once Cyclon™ subscribers return used products to us, we collect them until a sufficient volume is reached for efficient recycling. For the Cloudneo, we have reached that threshold and have started recycling used products as of August 2024. In fact, the new Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1. features a Speedboard® made from recycled Cloudneo parts and leftover materials from Cloudneo manufacturing. For the Cyclon-T, the Cloudrise Cyclon, the Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1 and the Cloudeasy Cyclon., we haven't collected enough used products to start recycling yet.
Subscription
We turned to a subscription model to keep recyclable materials in use. Through a subscription model, we ensure we meet the needs of our Cyclon™ community, and get the products back too. Our subscription model is new and different in the sportswear industry. This is a great opportunity to educate our fans about recycling and circularity, but this is just the start.
We are exploring the complex world of circularity, but the subscription process is straightforward. There are two main steps: Step 1: Subscribe, create an account and add in your personal details (shipping address, credit card details, etc). Step 2: We ship your pair of Cyclon™ shoes, and we start charging the subscription fee to your card. After this, the cycle continues. Run your heart out. After 6 months or more, check to see if your shoes are worn out. Then, request your next pair or swap for another Cyclon™ style. Return the old ones to us, and we'll use the recycled material to make something new. Easy.
You can cancel within the first 30 days of your subscription, but after that, you'll be locked into the subscription for a minimum of 6 months. After the first 6 months, you will be able to cancel at anytime.
You will be able to swap your Cyclon™ shoes when your shoes are worn out. Just login to your account and decide if you want to request a new pair or swap for another style. Only the shoes that are part of the Cyclon™ program are available for this feature: the Cloudeasy Cyclon, the Cloudrise Cyclon, the Cloudneo, and the Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1 (only available in select regions). The Cyclon-T does not qualify since it's only a one-off purchase.
Yes. If you would like to use two Cyclon™ subscription products at the same time, you will need to purchase two separate subscriptions.
To subscribe, follow this link: https://www.on.com/collection/faq/cyclon. Hit the “Subscribe” button to get your hands on the future of running.
If you move to a new country, please use the Contact Us form to notify our Happiness Delivery team. We'll talk you through the next steps.

Recycling and circularity
It means to send back your worn out Cyclon™ gear, so we can keep recyclable materials in use. In the case of the Cyclon™ shoes, (which are only available via subscription), when you request to recycle, you also order your next pair of shoes or swap for another Cyclon™ shoe style. In the case of Cyclon-T, you do not get a new t-shirt once you recycle.
If you're happily subscribed to Cyclon™, your shoes are worn out, and you need a new pair, you can request to recycle via your account. You'll be able to order a new pair or swap for another Cyclon™ shoe. And we'll email you a return label. If you decide to cancel your subscription, then you must return the shoes, within 30 days of purchase, to get a refund. We'll email you a return label. If you don't get the sizing right, but would like to remain subscribed, you can exchange the product for the size you need, within the first 30 days of your subscription. We'll email you a return label.
Once we receive your Cyclon™ gear, we’ll take the recyclable materials and make new things out of it. When it comes to the Cloudneo, the Cloudrise Cyclon, Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1 and the Cyclon-T, we grind down the recyclable material to make new shoe parts out of it – like Speedboards®. This is called mechanical recycling. The Cloudeasy Cyclon™ is a bit different. We separate the upper from the bottom unit and use fiber-to-fiber recycling to turn the used upper into new yarn for other uppers. Then, we grind down the shoe's bottom unit and send the material to partners who create new products out of it. All in all, the goal stays the same: to keep recyclable materials in use. You can learn more about the recycling process here.
First, log into your customer account. A countdown will show you how many days you have left to recycle. If the number is 0, and your shoes are worn out, you're ready to go. Click on ‘recycle’ and we will ship you a new pair of Cyclon™ shoes. In the next 24 hours, you'll receive a return label via email. When your new order arrives, place your old pair of Cyclon shoes in any packaging. Stick the return label to the outside of your packaging. Drop your parcel off at the postal service listed on the label. Our Cyclon™ circularity program is powered by people like you, so thanks for helping our gear live on (and on). Living in Andorra, the Channel Islands, St. Helier, Malta, Cyprus, Gibraltar or the Balearic Islands? Recycling processes may vary. Check our FAQ for details on your region. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our Happiness Delivery team.
The main purpose of Cyclon™ is to reduce our impact by creating a circular system, so products can be returned and recycled to keep materials in use. We want to reduce the amount of products that end up in the landfill. If you cancel your subscription or you request a new pair of Cyclon™ shoes and don't return your old one, we'll assume the product is going to end up in the landfill at some point. For this reason, shoes must be returned to us within 30 days of the cancellation confirmation date to avoid being charged a fee of 100 USD or 115 CHF (or other currency equivalent). For all details, see our Cyclon™ return and cancellation policies.
Sorry about this. We're still working to fine-tune supply and demand for our sizes. We'll pause your subscription, and as soon as we receive your size in stock again, we'll send you an email to let you know. Your subscription will be unpaused as soon as we ship out your new pair.
Returns and exchanges
All Cyclon™ products are returnable within 30 days of purchase or subscription. If you'd like to return your Cyclon™ shoes, simply log into your customer account, click on ‘cancel plan’, and return them to us in their original packaging. Returns can only be processed for a complete refund if they're sent back within 30 days of purchase and if the shoes are in original condition. Read: No wear or tear. If you'd like to return your Cyclon-T, fill out the return form, and we'll provide a return label. Then, place it in its original packaging, apply the return label and send it back. Simple.
Yes, definitely. You can exchange for a new size in the first 30 days, as long as the shoes are still in original condition – meaning unused, undamaged, clean and in the original packaging. Simply log into your customer account, request an exchange and return your Cyclon™ shoes to us in their original packaging. Please note that it's only possible to exchange sizes for the shoe you subscribed to.
An exchange is when you need a different size, like with any other On order. We simply swap the shoes received for the shoe size you need. You can do this within the first 30 days of your subscription or when it's time to recycle and request your next pair.
If you have an issue with the quality of your Cyclon™ shoes, please log into your customer account and click on ‘Warranty’. Our team will take care of your request and evaluate your case as soon as possible.
Cloudneo
The Cloudneo is a high-performance road running shoe. Featuring over 90% recyclable and over 50% bio-based materials, it's the first shoe in our Cyclon™ circularity program. Most importantly: It's only available via subscription.
The essential stats of the Cloudneo: Weight: Approx. 255 g Heel Drop: 9 mm Stack Height: 33 mm Support: Neutral More information can be found on the Cyclon™ page.
Yes, this shoe is made for road running. Fast. The Cloudneo is designed for high performance at high speed, whether you’re prepping for your next marathon or racing on the road. (Emphasis on road. The Cloudneo is not a trail running shoe or hiking shoe. That type of terrain requires more grip and stability.) Over 50% of the shoe is made from high-performance bio-based materials derived from castor beans. The upper is minimal, breathable and pretty much unstoppable. For the sole, we used a groundbreaking new engineering process to create a unique foam that returns energy like our teammate Roger (yes, that Roger) returns second serves. Cloud elements cushion your landing before firing you into a seriously powerful push-off. If you were looking for proof that sustainability doesn't mean less performance ability, well, look no further.
The Cloudneo is engineered with superior quality materials for unmatched elite-level performance – like our pinnacle Helion™ HF hyperfoam. And it’s over 90% recyclable. It comes with all the ingredients that form On’s signature running sensation. It’s lightweight, comfortable, cushioned and responsive all at the same time. But there’s a whole lot more to this incredible shoe. Check out its product page to learn more.
The Cloudneo is engineered from two types of high-quality, high-performance polyamides. The 98% bio-based upper is engineered from PA11, a polyamide derived from castor beans. The bottom unit is engineered from an equally high-performance polyamide compound called Pebax. Not only is the Cloudneo majority bio-based, it’s over 90% recyclable and exceptionally high performance.
The Cloudneo has been engineered with twin CloudTec® cushioning made from Pebax (that bio-based material we told you about)!
The Cloudneo fits true to size and can be compared to the fit of the Cloudflow.
The Cloudneo is manufactured in Zucca, Vietnam, like many of our other shoes. When you're on a mission to make a seriously amazing shoe, only the best will do. And our Vietnamese friends are serious shoe-engineering pros. You can find more detail about our factories and conditions here.
The Cloudneo bag uses a hook-and-loop closure. Just put your shoes in, close the flap and secure it nicely before mailing it all back to us.
Our Cloudneo bag is always the best choice. But if you are cancelling your subscription or can't seem to find yours, please return your shoes in any packaging and apply the return label, we've sent you by email.
Cyclon-T
The Cyclon-T is a 90% bio-based, high-performance running tee. Part of our Cyclon™ circularity program, it was designed to be recycled (without its tag), and takes us ones step closer to a better future.
The Cyclon-T can be purchased from our website and can be found here.
Unlike the Cyclon™ shoes, you can own the Cyclon-T. It is a one-off purchase. You cannot subscribe to it.
Over 90% of the Cyclon-T's fabric is bio-based from castor beans.
The Cyclon-T is over 90% bio-based and designed to be recycled (without the care label). Once it's totally worn out, please send it back to us. We will gather the recyclable components, grind them, and use them in new shoe parts. Run. Recycle. Repeat.
Cyclon™ is our first step on our circular journey. The Cyclon-T was designed to be recycled, but we need you to return it, so we can make new shoe parts out of it.
Yes! The high-performance PA11 fabric has sweat-wicking properties for the best of performance and sustainability.
Please don't. The average lifecycle of a t-shirt is usually longer than a performance running shoe. For this reason, we are not putting a time stamp on when you should send back the Cyclon-T. Instead, wear it until you can't anymore. Then (once it's totally worn out), send it back to us. Run. Recycle. Repeat.
First, fill out this form. Then, select "Cyclon™" and let us know that you are ready to send yours back. Our team will send you a return label, which you can place on any packaging and send back to us. (Don't forget the Cyclon-T.)
Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1
The Cloudrise Cyclon is an everyday running shoe. With over 90% recyclable content and over 40% bio-based content, it's part of our Cyclon™ circularity program. Most importantly – it's only available via subscription.
Since we launched Cyclon™ in 2022, we’ve been exploring new ways to use renewable materials or recycled parts in our products. Enter: Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1. We took recycled materials from used Cloudneo shoes and mixed those with leftover materials from manufacturing to create pellets for a Speedboard® – our signature tech made to increase runners’ speed. We put that Speedboard® into the new Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1. Same shoe. Same speed. Now with Speedboard®, made from recycled materials, which takes us one step closer on our journey towards circularity.
While the shoes look almost the same, there's one thing that sets them apart. The Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1 features a new Speedboard® made from recycled materials from Cloudneo shoes and leftover materials from manufacturing.
You can find the Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1 on our website – or more specifically, here.
The Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1 features two types of high-quality, high-performance polyamides and a Speedboard® made from recycled materials. The 90% bio-based upper is engineered from PA11, a polyamide derived from castor beans. The bottom unit is engineered from an elite-level Helion™ Hyperfoam. And the new Speedboard® is made from recycled materials, 40% from used Cloudneo shoes and 59.5% from leftover shoe upper materials from manufacturing.
Once we receive your worn out shoes, we gather the recyclable components, grind them, and use them in new shoe parts – like Speedboards®. Run. Recycle. Repeat.
The Cloudrise Cyclon 1.1 is engineered with superior quality materials for unmatched performance. And over 90% of its materials are recyclable. It comes with all the ingredients that form On’s signature running sensation, but it featues a Speedboard® made from recycled materials from Cloudneo shoes and leftover materials from manufacturing. Compared to the Cloudneo, it's got softer cushioning and a wider, more easy going fit. But there’s a whole lot more to this incredible shoe. Take a look at the Cyclon™ page to learn more about it's tech.
Yes, this shoe is made for everyday running. From 5Ks to 10Ks, it will be your next road running go-to. Over 40% of the shoe is made from high-performance bio-based materials derived from castor beans. The upper is minimal and breathable. And the midsole features twin CloudTec® technology to cushion your landing and power your take-offs.
While you can request to recycle at the 6-month mark, you can also extend your cycle until the shoe is worn out. The more you wear it, the better for the planet.
Cloudeasy Cyclon
The Cloudeasy Cyclon is our first lifestyle shoe in the Cyclon™ program. It's made with 28% recycled content. In fact, the upper is made with 100% recycled yarn, from PET waste that can't be conventionally reused. But most importantly, over 91% of the shoe can be recycled – 21% for new yarn and over 70% for other products.
You can find the Cloudrise Cyclon on our website. (Or more specifically, here.)
The shoe is made with just 15 parts. (That's half of the average industry standard.) – The upper knit is crafted from yarn made with 100% recycled polyester fiber. – The midsole is made with 40% bio-attributed EVA foam, from ISCC+ certified material from sustainable feedstock. – The TPU half-Speedboard® is 35% bio-based. And it's injected into the shoe's midsole to reduce waste. – And it's got On's unique CloudTec® at the heel for comfort you can trust.
The Cloudeasy Cyclon™ has a state-of-the-art recycling process. First, we separate the upper from the bottom unit and use fiber-to-fiber recycling to convert the upper into new yarn for other uppers. The bottom unit goes through mechanical recycling. We grind it down, and send it to our partners who create other products – like picnic tables. All in all, we stay true to our goal: to keep materials in use at the end of each lifecycle.
No, it's a lifestyle shoe.
It may look really similar to the original Cloudeasy, but this version was designed to be recycled. It takes us one step further on our ciruclarity journey. And it's proof of our commitment to innovation. In fact, here are a couple more things that set it apart: – The upper knit is crafted from yarn made with 100% recycled polyester fiber. – The midsole is made with 40% bio-attributed EVA foam, so 40% fewer virgin fossil fuels. – The TPU half-Speedboard® is 35% bio-based. And it's injected into the shoe's midsole to reduce waste. Together, these features make the Cloudeasy Cyclon one of our most advanced lifestyle shoes to date.
While you can request to recycle at the 6-month mark, you can also extend your cycle until the shoe is worn out. The more you wear it. The better for the planet.

We currently are unable to process subscription products and regular products together due to technical restrictions. In order to help keep track of your monthly billings and shipment, we currently keep the checkout process separate.
You can have multiple Cyclon™ subscriptions. You'll just need to check out separately for each one.
